A Thank You to Kristin Marie Photography

Back in March, we had a family photo session at the studio with the amazing Kristin Marie—and I’m still not over it. The photos are stunning and emotional and perfect, and I will treasure them forever.

Kristin somehow managed to wrangle our entire crew with patience and grace: me, Grant, Lemon (2.5), Azalea (1.5), and baby Fenn (our newest little squish). I barely remember the shoot itself—classic postpartum brain fog—but I do remember feeling grateful.

Grateful for Kristin’s generosity.
Grateful for her calm and steady energy amid the chaos.
Grateful for the way she captured us so beautifully, just as we are in this messy, magical season.

She came in with gentle direction, sweet encouragement, and plenty of poses at the ready (thank goodness). And despite a toddler meltdown or two and our girls insisting on carrying “spicy waters” (aka sparkling water cans) around the entire shoot, Kristin rolled with it all.

In fact, she even included the cans in some of the photos—which, yes, made me laugh out loud. I mean, how could she not? They’re part of the story right now.

Looking through the gallery, I felt so much joy. Not just because of how beautiful they were, but because they made me realize how quickly these moments are slipping by. I wish I had photos like this with each of my babies when they were newborns.

But I have them now—and that matters.

So if you're on the fence about booking newborn or family photos, let me say this as clearly as I can: DO IT.

Do it tired, do it messy, do it even if it feels like too much. You will not regret it. You’ll regret not doing it. They’re only little for a minute.

Kristin, thank you. For the gift of these memories. For showing up with heart and humor and your incredible talent. I’m so beyond grateful.

And to anyone looking for a photographer to capture your family in the most thoughtful and real way—Kristin is your girl.
