Tried-and-True (Free!) Photo-Ready Spots In Savannah
Visiting Savannah for the weekend and looking for some amazing photo-ready spots for a portrait session or content creation? We’ve got you— we’re locals, after all!
Grab a coffee (or walking bevvie- it’s Savannah!) and hit some of our favorite spots that capture that dreamy and edgy Southern vibe…
“THE SAVANNAH Belles” River FERRIES
From Chatham Area Transit
An underrated gem of River Street, the free ferries that run back and forth across the Savannah River can be an uncommon yet iconic spot for photos. There are four different “Belles” in the CAT (Chatham Area Transit) fleet. The vessels range in age and style and it’s not always guaranteed which vessel you’ll get- but definitely check out the lineup!
Even if your trip doesn’t coincide with the vessel you wanted, all of the ferries offer incredible views of the river and Talmage Memorial Bridge.
Bonus Photo Spot: Take the ferry to the Savannah Convention Center across the river for photos with all of River Street in the background.
FORSYTH PARK
I know, I know, this one seems obvious. But hear me out!
Forsyth is truly an amazing blank canvas for any outdoor shots you might be dreaming up. The northern end of the park is cloaked in shade from dreamy oaks, perfect for whimsical and ethereal portraits. While the southern end is home to two huge fields- an ideal place to set up a small afternoon picnic for lazy lounging-in-the-sun shots.
Bonus Photo Spot: Hit Forsyth early Saturday morning for the weekly farmer’s market! Great for casual and playful “Saturday morning vibes” content and photos.
Stroll through the sidestreets
It might go without saying, but the streets of Savannah themselves are SO photo-worthy!
There are so many little cobblestone corners to wander around, historic and charming textures calling to you from exterior walls, and awe-inspiring pools of warm Southern light to wrap yourself in.
We recommend wandering around the Historic District, or checking out the areas branching off of Forsyth Park. Either way, wandering like a local means using the many squares to help anchor and orient yourself! (And maybe even stop for some bonus photo spots!)
