At The Studio: A Fatherhood Shoot With YK Visuals
Like something from a high fashion editorial or a moment in a movie, YK Visuals’ sharpened eye for cinematic moments illuminates his subjects’ sessions…
HOW did you become interested in photography?
Honestly, what pulled me into photography was the feeling of freezing a moment exactly how I see it.
I’ve always loved creating, but the first time I picked up a camera and saw how much emotion you can capture through lighting and angles, that’s when I was hooked. It wasn’t just taking pictures anymore, it was storytelling.
The more I learned, the more obsessed I became with making every shot feel cinematic, like something pulled out of a movie.
How would you describe your style of photography?
My style is cinematic, clean, and emotional. I’m big on storytelling — even a simple portrait should feel like it has depth.
I want people to look at my images and feel something mood, emotional, confidence, whatever the moment is calls for my goal is for every photo to look like a still frame from a film.
How did the shoot go?
The shoot went smooth, the energy was great the entire time. There were moments where everything lined up perfectly, the pose, the lighting, the expression.
You just know right then that you captured something special. Those are the shots that remind me why I do this.
How did you meet your client?
We connected online, and right away I could tell they trusted the vision. I love when clients come in ready to create, ready to try something different.
Their energy made me excited when somebody believes in your work, it pushes you to go even harder for them.
What’s next for YK Visuals?
I’m excited to keep doing lifestyle portraits, cinematic brand content, studio work, holiday, I’m excited for it ALL.
But what really drives me is storytelling, sessions that feel like a movie scene, not just a quick photo. I want to create more sessions where people walk in feeling regular, but walk out feeling like a star.
What drew you to wonderland studios?
